REVIEW Too Hot to Handle by Katie Rose

Book two in Katie Rose's The Boys of Summer series. We find ourselves again with the New Jersey Sonics and this time around with playboy Jake Baldwin. I enjoyed this just as much as the first book in the series if not more, maybe. Nikki and Jake are smokin' hot; there's nothing like a playboy whose found love and has to convince lady love he really and truly loves her and only her well except for maybe baseball, her and baseball are the loves of his life.

Tired of the bad rep his team has Sonic's owner highers Nikki Case as the teams PR person. Nikki not a fan of the game but still as a strict structure the players must adhere to or face consequences. The players rebel with practical joke after practical joke instead of reacting the way the players expect her to react she brushes it off and has it work to her advantage. Jake is the only one taking it in stride especially since he made a bet to win over Nikki. Jake who would have made a play for her anyways enjoys her company and is surprised when she admits to wants a no strings attached affair. Jake is tired of meaningless relationships and grudgingly agrees to one with Nikki. Jake has an ongoing change he starts to mature right before your eyes.

The cleaning up Nikki does with the team has him looking at things differently so when a young boy tries to steal something out of his car instead of calling the cops Jake offers him a job. Becoming a mentor to the boy is a full feelful feeling. It backfires a little when the kids gets beaten up for his Sonic's jersey that Jake gives him. The media finds out about it somehow and Nikki thinks they should capitalize on it but after meeting the young boy and his mother she knows why Jake wants to avoid it. Jake and Nikki have fallen in love but when Nikki overhears about the bet she leaves now it's up to Jake to win her back.

REVIEW Her Sexy Sentinel by Jenn Burke

Jenn Burke's His Sexy Sentinel I really enjoyed, it's one of those books where I hope the author writes more about this sentinel universe. I loved the concept and the secondary characters have piqued my curiosity to want to find out more. Callie and Derrick are hot! Trying to not give in to the sexual desire quickly building between the two. It was a fast paced emotional story that had me enthralled to the very end.

Callie ran when some bad stuff went down in her home town. She ran to Ottawa for reasons she herself could quite understand and when she got there she was assaulted by some local thugs. Something strange happened to Callie then she was able to defend herself using a strange power she never had before. Already with some psychic powers she saw what would happen if she didn't do something to stop it. As soon as she does she runs scared and the only person she can think of to call is Derrick. Friends in college who dated briefly but Derrick cut and ran leaving a brokenhearted Callie behind. . Callie always thought Derrick wasn't interest but he is her only hope little did she know Derrick was more than interested in her but had his own reasons for breaking it off. Now a call in the middle of the night brings Derrick and Callie together again.

Callie's magical talent of controlling air has finally emerged, saving herself but now she thinks she has killed her attacker. Derrick has already know of Callie's potential and tried to avoid her for that reason, but now that she is back and needs his help. To make matters worse Derrick's sister was murdered and Callie became her replacement as the Magus. Callie is thrown into the world she has no clue about. The Sentinels are two magic users designated to kept the town safe. The two of them made up of the Magus, the highest magic user, and The Knight, the one who defends and protects the Magus. They are connected; bonded in a way that bring them mentally closer to each other and the sexual tension between the two becomes almost unbearable. In Derrick's grief he forgets to tell Callie some important things and since she has no clue what she is doing when Derrick is injured beyond repair Callie does the only thing she can and forms the forbidden bond between the them.

The first Sentinels formed such a bond and ended up killing all but one of the council. The two Sentinels claimed the council member was a demon and that he killed the other council members. They were put to death and the council band that bond between the Sentinel stating it would slowly drive them crazy. Derrick and Callie try to hide it both still unsure about the others feelings but they both still love each other and that bond was inevitable. Derrick is upset with it after being told since childhood that it was wrong but Callie is adamant that she was just doing what felt right, and it still does.

The death of Derrick's sister was just the start of it. Soon Derrick and Callie are evading sniper attacks, tracking the killer of several young women and when the council finds out about the bond Callie wants to continue to avoid them and continue trying to find the killer before he strikes again, but Derrick wants to explain. It all comes together in an explosive "what a twist" ending.

REVIEW Katalina Leon's Forsaken Realms and Hoodoo Blue

Katalina Leon has released not one but two novellas for Fated Desires new lines. Earlier this month Forsaken Realms kicked off the On the Run line and now Hoodoo Blue starting off the Set-Up line. The On the Run line I think is pretty explanatory the characters are on the run from someone or something; the Set-up line is where blind dates go wrong. (I love it already!)

Forsaken Realms is a Sci-Fi Romance set in the distant future. Retrieval Specialist Gemmina Nayar is asked specifically to pick up and turn in a corporate spy who tried to infiltrate the isolated and mysterious billionaire/ inventor Jason Naveen laboratory. But when she gets there she discovers the spy is one of the forbidden race Kironian. The Kironians isolated themselves away from the humans determined to keep them separate the human government agreed and forbid the Kironian space forbidden. Gimmina knows something is hinky when she finds out who she is transporting and when the huge Kironian opens his eyes and something passes between them she crosses her fingers that she is wrong. She's not. Soon Syan the gorgeous way off-limits alien is talking to her telepathically something they can only do with fated mates. He tries to warn her that Jason Neveen is not who he appears to be and will not let them go easily. He is soon proven right when her ship's engine blows up and they crash and are soon running for their lives.  I love a good sci-fi and this one satisfied my craving for sci-fi and a good romance.

Hoodoo Blue is a funny PNR laced with good intentions gone wrong. The Blonde Bombshell witch also known as Fredi hasn't had the best luck with dating swearing it off because with every dirty/erotic thought she has green plasma flies out her fingertips setting things on fire. Gus is a Lycan shifter who hasn't had the best control of his shifting lately. When Fredi's best friend laces the Hoodoo Blue mix with a special potion to keep Fredi and Gus together and talking because she knows they are perfect for each other it all goes wrong. First they blurt out everything that comes to mind and then they can't move far from each other and that radius keeps shrinking not to mention the fact that Fredi keeps shooting green fire and it's a full moon so Gus isn't in control with his shifting. This is a funny funny story I enjoyed it immensely.

REVIEW The Devil takes a Bride by Julia London

Book 2 in the Cabot Sisters series by Julia London was not what I expected. I still think the original title of The Fall of Lady Grace, is more apt but The Devil Takes a Bride is more eye catching. I was not expecting this book to go in the direction it went especially with Jeffrey. Grace I expected to be a tad bit selfish from the previous book. With Jeffrey his "madness" his OCD, his need to have everything in 8s was fine it makes him unique; it stands him out against the rest of the romance heroes I love that about him and I the fact that I imagined Stuart Reardon as him didn't hurt. But... the, for the lack of a better term, BDSM tendencies was over the top I think it could have been just left as controlling and in charge and it would have been fine. It almost felt like it was written in just to appease the trend of BDSM books. That being said it was very well written and I liked how it wasn't the main focus although I could have lived without it (if I wanted to read BDSM I would I just didn't expect to read it in one of my favorite Historical Romance authors). I didn't like Grace in The Trouble with Honor she came off as self centered despite her need to help the family. In this one you can see how quickly she changes, some of her actions are still self centered but you can tell she thinks it's for a good reason and that she wants to make things work and she's trying.

The beginning of this book runs parallel with the end of the last book, to catch you up in case you missed it The two eldest Cabot sisters are the belles of the ball both already have been in society for a couple of years with no urge to marry. That is until their step father passes away, their mother's dementia starts to get worse and their step brother's fiancee wants to sent the girls away. With their two younger siblings not yet out their mother's sickness will hurt their chances to find a good match. So Honor hatches her own scheme and Grace under takes her own. Honor's backfires but ends happily, to bad news of this didn't get to Grace before her own machinates backfired as well. Grace had an admire she thought cared enough about her he wouldn't mind being trapped into marriage with her. His brother however was the one who fell into the trap.

Jeffrey, The Earl of Merryton, lead on organized life he was content with. Everything in it's place and always in multiples of eight Jeffrey was looking for a wife who wouldn't disturb that instead he fell into Grace Cabots trap. Mad at first he soon just accepted it, he lusted after her like no one else before but she was too innocent to show his "depraved" sexual desires. Grace on the other hand sees Jeffrey for what he is and soon comes to understand his need and once she has a taste of his needs she wants more she just has to convince Jeffrey that she can handle it. Jeffrey's nature partially came by his father who was very strict in nature and often cruel in turn Jeffrey is determined to uphold his father's strict family rules and keep the name away from scandal. Grace knows this and is scared to tell him of her mother's "madness" for fear he will cast her out for it. They both must overcome their fears of the other knowing the truth about the other in order to be happily ever after.

Overall, yes I did like the book, it wasn't the greatest but it wasn't horrible either. It was good just not what I was expecting.

REVIEW Teardrop Lane by Emily March

Book #9 in Emily March's Eternity Springs Series, Teardrop Lane is a wonderful read. I came in late to this series but how Emily March writes each book can be read as a stand alone. Emily March and Eternity Springs is another exception to my no books that make me cry rule for the reason that it's a good kinda cry. The emotional turmoil the characters go through is believable and heart felt and really touches you... in a good way. I love the characters all of them! The introduction to Hunter Cicero in the last book was just a tease to the man he is in this book. Doctor Delicious aka Rosemary Anderson is a beautifully complex and loveable character.

Cicero moved from his beautiful island to Galveston, Texas in order to help his sister take care of her four children while she battles cancer. His nieces and nephews are little hell raisers, a rambunctious bunch and the boys constantly getting into trouble. But things change when unexpectedly his sister catches a virus and with her system being weak from her cancer treatment she dies. The four children all with different fathers were left in the care of the youngest aunt and uncle on her father's side. Cicero not being blood related was just asked for financial support and occasional babysitting. Cicero can finally move up to Eternity Springs to oversee the workshop and glass store he is opening with Gabi. Unbeknownst to Cicero, Gabi entered him in a fellowship for artist of different mediums with the chance to win over a quarter of a million dollars and since he was left to take care of his sisters doctor bills and the financial responsibility for four children he doesn't get to upset.

Dr. Rose Anderson is satisfied with her life she doesn't need a man in her life but when the newest resident of Eternity Springs shows interest and her own heart goes pitter patter and the sight of him she gives in and with each new day she sees so much more to him than anyone else he lets see. Rose tries to keep her past from him but past heartbreak and her secrets must be told. The relationship dynamic changes when suddenly the guardians of Cicero's nephews and nieces change their minds about keeping the kids and the only acceptable option is Cicero taking them. With some adjusting they thrive as a family. Rose is a cancer survivor and is scared of what she will put Cicero and the kids when she finds a lump in her breast. After an argument her and Cicero are stronger than ever. Once again the tears fall when the flaky guardians change their minds again and want the kids back Cicero and Rose would do anything to keep them.

NEW RELEASE Now in Print Blind Faith by Rebecca Zanetti

BLIND FAITH by Rebecca Zanetti (January 27, 2015; Forever Mass Market; $8.00)

A betrayal he couldn't forget . . .

For Nate Dean, love is a four-letter word. As part of a secret black-ops military unit, he and his brothers were genetically engineered by the government to be ruthless soldiers with an expiration date. They were loyal only to one another . . . until Nate laid eyes on the woman who stole his heart and blew his world apart. Now, years later, his family is still paying the price for his mistake. But as time runs out, there's only one person who can save his family: the very woman Nate swore he'd never trust again.

A love she couldn't deny . . .
The moment Audrey Madison spies Nate across a crowded ballroom, she can barely breathe. He's just as undeniably sexy as she remembers, yet there's an edge to him now that's as irresistible as it is dangerous. When he asks for her help, Audrey can't refuse. But she has secrets of her own--secrets that, if Nate ever discovers them, may cost them both their lives . . .

“I’m sorry I hurt you.” She pulled her legs to sit cross-legged on the sofa.
“So why did you?”
She picked at a mar in the cushion. “We became too close, and the commander knew you wanted a life outside of the military group. He said either I ended our relationship, or you were going to die as an example to the rest of his soldiers.”
Nate lifted his chin. “So you trusted him over me.”
Audrey started, and her breath caught. “No. I broke up with you to save you.”
“I figured out why you broke up with me. But again, you trusted the commander over me. I would’ve figured out a way for us.” Determination and anger blazed hot in his eyes. “You had no right to make that decision for both of us.”
She gasped, anger spiraling through her. “This is about your ego? You beating the commander?” Ending her relationship with him had nearly killed her, and he couldn’t see that? Standing, she kicked her heels out of the way. “Fuck you, Nate.”
He grabbed her elbow and yanked her back around without making a sound of moving. “My ego? No. This is about you being too frightened to take a chance, to make a stand, and to fight for us, for what you said you wanted.”
Oh, if he had any damn clue about her fight.
She shoved his chest. Hard.
The man didn’t move an inch.
“Let go of me,” she said, her chin rising.
“No.” Then his mouth was on hers. The gentleness always alive in Nate had fled, leaving heated, pissed-off male.
Her knees weakened, and her breath heated. She opened her mouth to protest, to argue, but his tongue swept inside, and she was lost. Lost to the passion instantly igniting between them.
Her nipples hardened to rock, while her nails curled into his chest, no longer pushing.
He yanked her into him, taking control. His tongue explored her, tasting, claiming. Taking with a lava-hot desperation so hot it should’ve scared her. Should’ve provided warning that she was out of her element.
But fear remained so far in the background as to be inconsequential.
Or maybe she just wanted to feel alive. For the first time in five years, the pain of the present, the fatality of the future—disappeared.
Only here and now existed—only pleasure so sharp it cut through her with a delicious blade of ecstasy. One man on earth could provide such an overwhelming escape, and she wanted the freedom he offered. A temporary relief from the reality of her life, of who’d she’d become and what she must do now.
So she jumped head-first into the storm he’d unleashed, her tongue mating with his. A low growl rumbled up from his chest like a lion about to attack.
He reached down and tugged her still-buttoned blouse over the top of her head. Cool air brushed her skin, and her nipples sang a whispering hello. She protested when he jerked his mouth free and then sighed when he nipped her jaw, tracing the fragile bone.
Fire lashed from his mouth and through her, assaulting her with a need too dark to avoid. She held no illusions that this was one night to scratch an itch. She’d given her heart to Nate years ago, but no future existed for them.
She had this moment, and she was experiencing every second, no matter how quickly it ended.
Somehow her bra ended up across the room.
“Oh God,” he murmured, his gaze hot and on her breasts. “These haunt my dreams.” His mouth found her, licking along her breast and engulfing a nipple.
She sighed, her hands burrowing through his thick hair and clenching tight. Both knees weakened, and only a strong arm banding around her waist held her upright.
Her wildest memories didn’t come close to the hunger replacing all thought. A smart girl would stop him. She didn’t want to be smart, and she didn’t want careful. She wanted right now.
He switched to the other breast, laving and sucking, nipping with a hint of violence that shot liquid to her thighs.
Finally, he lifted up, his unique eyes a color she’d never seen. Not gray nor black, but something in-between. “Audrey?”
The low, guttural tone nearly propelled her right over the edge into orgasm.
She swallowed, trying to force out words. “One night, Nate. Just us. You, me, and now. No past, no future.”
Regret twisted his lips, and desperation flashed across his face. He wanted to refuse, to maybe protect them both.
The time for protecting them had disappeared five years ago. She felt an apology shine in her eyes as she reached out and cupped his erection. Full and pulsing, even through the jeans, his cock overwhelmed her palm in size and heat.
A furious struggle cut grooves into his rugged face.
She squeezed.
His eyelids shut, and when they reopened, the fight was over.

...And now we have Nate! in PRINT *Fan Girl SQEEEEE* If you couldn't tell I love this series, I love these extremely HOT Alpha Males. These modified men with grey eyes are working hard and fast to find the code that will stop the kill switch implanted in their spine. In the first book we have Shane Dean who married Josie to try and get information on the nameless project run by the ruthless Commander and his bitch lover Dr. Madison. They didn't find what they needed but they did find out that the youngest brother Jory who they believed to be dead might be alive. Next we have (my favorite) Matt Dean who is undercover looking for a doctor who worked on the project and just might be the key to the kill switch code. What he didn't count on was falling in love with the Doctor. Elaine "Laine" didn't know what she got herself in too but is more than willing to help save them. No new information was learned about Jory or the kill switches but they did learn Nate might be a father. And now we have Nate. This series is action packed it makes you want to fit bump the air and smack characters in the back of their head Gibbs style for being idiots. The second chance romance, still one of my favorites, leads to some pretty hot sex... and a baby.

Nate who came across like an ass in the previous books is shown in a different light as well as heartbreaker Audrey. Audrey who we learned previously broke Nate's heart because as the daughter of Dr. "Bitch" Madison was just being used as an experiment to see what would happen between them. The book opens up with Nate in disguise at a political function Audrey has attended. Reunited again Nate almost at once forgives Audrey when he learns she lost the baby to a miscarriage and was seriously injured in the explosion of the compound when they had escaped five years before. Audrey had several surgeries to repair the damage done and still has to watch how she walks so she doesn't show a limp. Nate still believing she is working with the Commander tries to talk her out of whatever it is she is doing but what he doesn't know is that Audrey is playing a double agent. Audrey is spying on the Commander for the Senator she works for. Things go astray when Audrey witness a murder of an acquaintance who knows all about the project and the Commander and is willing to help shut it down, and know Audrey is targeted to be killed. Yes there is a baby coming into play but I will leave how a surprise.

Now the Dean Brothers work together to save Audrey and to destroy the Commander and this new group set to destroy everything, find the code to the kill switch and find out what happened to Jory. So much happens in this book and it still leaves off (NO CLIFFHANGER) with one more book to go. I love Rebecca Zanetti everything thing of hers I have read I love from her paranormal romance the Dark Protectors series to her contemporary romance Maverick Montana series.

We’ve got a fantastic Rafflecopter giveaway which includes a grand prize of all three books in the series, plus an ARC of TOTAL SURRENDER, a “Who Shot Jory Dean?” T-shirt and a Blind Faith dog tag:

RELEASE DAY BLITZ Billionaire Untamed by J. S. Scott

Lara Bailey isn't in Rocky Springs for the hot springs, the resort activities or the fabulous skiing.  She has come to Colorado for one reason and one reason only: to find and get close to Marcus Colter, the eldest Colter brother.  Unfortunately, trouble finds her in the form of Tate Colter rather than Marcus. The youngest Colter brother is arrogant, cocky, smart, and tenacious in his attempts to find out why she wants to find Marcus even though she's never met him. Lara isn't willing to divulge that information, and Tate is determined to uncover her motives.  It makes Tate one hot, wickedly sexy, adorably dimpled, alpha male pain in her backside.

Lara is really confused when Tate helps her out of a difficult and potentially dangerous situation. It leaves Lara wondering if he really is the cocky, arrogant jerk that he pretends to be, or if there isn't much more to Tate Colter than she'd initially thought.

Tate Colter wants Lara Bailey in his bed...badly.  When she completely blows him off and ignores him when they meet, he's even more determined to find out her secrets and get her to submit to the molten desire that radiates between the two of them. The fact that she's one tough female, a woman who can give back exactly what he dishes out, makes her even more intriguing to him.

Sparks fly as Tate and Lara become involved in a battle of wits and wills that will ignite flames of passion and desire like neither one of them have ever experienced.  But when deception is discovered and a betrayal takes place, can these two adversaries who are so much alike work together without letting the white-hot passion burning between them incinerate them both?

REVIEW Ghost of a Promise by Kelly Moran

Ghost of a Promise is the first of a new series by Kelly Moran. I  really enjoyed this book, it was like a ghost hunting show and a soap mixed into one. Ghost of a Promise follows the ghost hunting reality show Phantoms. If watching ghost hunting shows on tv gives you goose bumps and love it, this book is for you it is creepy and scary and so romantically sweet. It was a really good read, I look forward to more.

REVIEW Against the Sky by Kat Martin

I LOVE THE BRODIES OF ALASKA!!!!

As always Kat Martin writes an exciting adventure and romance. Against the Sky is book two of the Brodies of Alaska series; this one follows Nick Brodie retired Anchorage Police Detective former Army Ranger and pet grooming marketing director Samantha Hollis. Your standard opposites attract, strangers in the night, lust at first sight, I say standard but nothing Kat Martin does is standard this is another example of her brilliance. I loved the characters both the main and the second tier. Nick and Samantha are opposites; Samantha a city girl and Nick the rugged manly man but they are exactly what they need in each other.

Bored with nothing to do now that he is retired Nick takes on some private security detail for a friend; it's an easy job and less stressful than being a cop. In need of a distraction Nick's brothers make him take a vacation a little time in Vegas can do the body and mind good. While their Nick saves a woman from a drunks unwanted advances. Samantha is in Vegas for a pet store convention and isn't looking to make it anything but business but when the tall, blond and gorgeous Nick scares off the unwanted advances of another guest he convinces her otherwise. After keeping it strictly platonic their last night in Vegas they give in and make the last night the night to remember always. Three weeks later Samantha feels completely different about it because now she is pregnant. Unsure about what to do she just planned on contacting Nick and getting a feel for how he would react what she got was an invitation to Alaska.

Nick has been unable to stop thinking about Samantha so on a whim he invites her to spend time with him in Alaska. What was supposed to be a nice two week vacation turned into an exciting adventure investigating the death of his neighbor at the insistence of his the man's son and that turns into tracking down and exposing a drug ring and an underage white slavery ring run by some Russian Mobsters. With the help of Nick's best friend, brother and more they manage to make a mess of an FBI undercover operation and expose the mole. Nick and Samantha fumble through their problems and fall in love but can they work through their differences for a HEA? I loved it, very page turning action and steamy romance.

REVIEW Bite Marks by Rebecca Royce

Bite Marks is the first in the new line from Fated Desires called Paranormal by Mistake. It was good, it was short I think too short, everything just happened really all at once and wrapped up quickly. I haven't read an actual undead vampire book in a while for the main reason that it weirds me out; they are dead doesn't matter that they are vampire they are still dead. I would rather read about vampires that are aliens, or genetically altered, or are a different species. Ok that aside it was an entertaining read, I liked the characters George and Trudy, the situation even rushed was funny and exciting.

Quiet introvert mystery writer George fell in love at first sight with the beautiful and mysterious Trudy the bartender. Time after time George has asked her out and Trudy has repeatedly turned him down until one night she finally gives in and says yes. Unfortunately later that night on the way home from his friends bachelor party he get bitten by a vampire and left for dead then becomes one of the "undead". Dejected he feels like he has lost his chance with Trudy, little does he know Trudy is a werewolf hunter and is on the run from a pack of werewolves hellbent on killing her. Trudy embraces George and confesses her past and tells him she will be waiting for him.

Even though George was an accident the council agreed to keep him, and as per usual they locked him up for a few weeks until he can control his blood lust his motivation for controlling it as quickly as possible is Trudy. When three weeks pass and George gets out Trudy is gone. Trudy received a call from her brother that the wolves were on her trail so she reluctantly takes off. She has a eureka moment where she realizes that she is a hunter and she will not run away anymore and she goes back to George. But can a newly changed vampire help her fight a pack of werewolves.

Annora Channing's entire world changes the moment she discovers she's a bear shifter. With mated wolves for parents, she should have been a wolf also. When the man she grew up thinking was her father realizes she isn't his daughter, he devises a plan to use her existence to his advantage in a way that will get her out from under his roof.

When her situation goes from bad to worse, Annora escapes but is badly injured in the process. Luckily, Elias Reve comes to her rescue while on his way to Wolf's Point and the daughter he lost years ago. With nowhere else to go and nobody to turn to, Annora joins him on his journey and ends up running smack-dab into the arms of her mate.

Parker Tate knows Annora is his the moment he lays eyes on her. When he manages to mate and mark her within hours of when they meet, he considers himself lucky. Then the trouble nipping at Annora's heels finds her and Parker realizes the path to claiming his mate won't be as easy as he thought - especially not with the bears involved.

This is book three in the Black River Pack series. Each novella features a different couple.

OMG! Ok this is the stunning climactic conclusion to the Black River Pack series. WOW what a ride. Rochelle Paige, and I have said this before, her narrative is like I'm sitting down with the characters and they are telling me their story. Easy to read but so steaming hot, Damn Parker got me all riled up, it is an exciting edge of your seat page turner and it really makes you go awwwww how sweet. I love, love, love these books.

The last book ended with a foreshadow of what was to come. Elias Reve would show up looking for his daughter Eliza but not alone; with him he would bring Parker's fated mate the one who would be discarded by family. A harsh way to put it but true none the less. Annora Channing never fit in with her pack not even her own father treated her like she belonged and to make matters worse when all the other kids went through their change she didn't. She just thought that she was a late bloomer and when she turned eighteen and finally changed it wasn't into a wolf. Her father went rabid and basically sold her to a psychotic shifter. She escaped and Elias saved her and brought her safely to Wolf Pointe.

Parker upon seeing Annora can not stop the mating urge, she feels it too and has no problem going through the marking. Still young Annora is hesitant about their situation but easily changes her tune when the rest of the family and pack welcome her with open arms even after they find out trouble is on her heals.

PLEASE tell me their are going to be books on the bears  <3 <3

 1:

My heart raced at the thought of finally finding her—the woman who was destined to be my mate. My brothers liked to tease me about being a bit of a white knight because I had a habit of helping women who were in distress, but I couldn’t stop myself from doing it. Ever since our grandmother had told me that my mate would have been discarded by her family, I’d struggled with the knowledge that she could be out there somewhere, desperately in need of help, without my being able to give it to her. So I’d compensated by aiding other women in the hope that someone else would be there for my mate when I couldn’t be. If Eliza’s dream was right, then I might not have to wait much longer.
“When?” I rasped out. “Were there any signs pointing to when she would be here?”
“I can’t be sure,” Eliza said with a look of apology on her face. “But I feel like it might be this winter.”
“Thank fuck,” I whispered, a huge wave of relief rolling through me.

 2:

The door had just started to close behind them, so I almost missed her dad’s next words. Thank fuck I didn’t though.
“Besides which, I left Annora at the table when I saw you pull up,” he explained. “Poor girl probably thinks I’ve abandoned her, and she’s still too sore to move quickly enough to catch up to me.”
“Annora,” I whispered in wonder.
My brain was catching up to my wolf as I grabbed the door and swung it open to catch up to them only to stop dead in my tracks. The scent that drifted to me was sweeter than anything I’d ever smelled before. Like cotton candy on a hot summer’s day.
Breathing deeply, I zeroed in on the curvy brunette sitting in the corner booth. She really was here. My mate.

REVIEW Grave Vengeance by Lori Sjoberg

My first Grave Novel by Lori Sjoberg. Grave Vengeance is book three in the series but can be read as a stand alone if necessary. This book made me smile, the relationship between Dmitri and Gwen is guilt ridden, full of hate, secrets and underlying sexual tension. This book has it all, action adventure, chases, secrets revealed, trapped in a cabin in a snow storm with nothing to do but screw like bunnies. I am going to have to go back and find the other books because I have a feeling I am missing out not having read them.

Dmitri is a bastard, at least that's how the other characters treat him, you can tell in the other two books he probably was but in his book you see him change. In life he was a KGB spy living undercover in the States with a pretend wife he soon fell in love with. But her betrayal made him a harsh man to like. Now in death as a Reaper working with Fate to redeem his soul he is charged with finding a rogue reaper and Fate has charged him to work with Gwen. He has hated Gwen for a lifetime, as she played a pivotal part in his capture, torture and ultimately his death but now over fifty years later being forced to work with her he sees things he never saw before.

Gwen in life worked as a spy and she felt no remorse for what she did for the sake of her country until Dmitri's capture, she used the excuse of his translator to be there but his tormentor was so heinous and he was so strong she stayed and made herself watch as a penice. But on his escape she died and now also a reaper working for Fate. Dmitri is to attractive for his own good and she knows she shouldn't be lusting after him but the more time he spends with her the more his flirting becomes more serious until the tension builds to the breaking point and being trapped in a cabin during a snowstorm leads to some very hot scenes.

On their journey to track down the rogue reapers leads to the discovery of an ancient artifact to open up another realm. The other realm has been opened before and the creatures that came out wreaked havoc for centuries and Fate has charged Gwen and Dmitri to stop him. That leads to some pretty tense chases and fights and a great overall story.

One Night of Sin

Sometimes it’s good to be bad…

When it comes to sex, good girl Skyler Thompson always plays it safe, choosing stable and sedate over wild and thrilling. She doesn’t do one-night-stands, but one look at sinfully sexy Gage Holt and she’s willing to reconsider. He makes her want to be bad for once in her life, and she’s prepared to take what she wants.

Danger follows former MMA fighter Gage Holt like a shadow. Despite his successes as part owner of Sin, an exclusive nightclub in Boston, Gage can’t risk getting involved with a woman, especially one as sweet as Skyler. Still, he can’t resist a taste—and it’s so damn good he has to see her again.

As addicted as he is to her, Gage knows there’s no future for him and Skyler—not with his past lurking in the dark corners of an MMA cage. But Skyler’s tougher than she looks, and she’s ready to fight for her man.

“I’m Skyler,” she said.
He nodded.
“Maybe you’re new to civilized society, but normally when people introduce themselves, you reply by providing your own name.” She arched one perfectly defined eyebrow.
“Is that right?” His lips twitched. “Well, what makes you think I’m at all civilized, Skyler?”
That made her falter. She bit her lower lip. Tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, and the scent of her shampoo floated his way. She smelled like green apples. A sweet and feminine fragrance, serving as a reminder that he shouldn’t be out here talking to her.
“How old are you, sweetheart?” His voice came out rough.
“Well, my ID held up at the door, so I’m over twenty-one if that’s what you’re worried about. Twenty-four, actually. In some cultures that would make me a spinster.”
Gage swallowed a laugh. There was something truly refreshing about her sarcasm, especially when contrasted with the flush of her cheeks and the way she fidgeted with her hands. She didn’t belong here. Not at this club, not even in this neighborhood. She should be nestled between crisp white sheets right about now, snuggled next to a wholesome man while the two of them watched late-night talk shows before bed.
“Go back inside,” he said gruffly. “Your date’s probably wondering where you are.”
That made her snicker. “I doubt it. I think he wrote me off the second he realized I wasn’t going to fuck him tonight.”
Gage’s cock jerked in his pants. Jesus. That angel mouth wasn’t allowed to say things like that. Not in front of him, a man whose inner devil could be summoned at the drop of a hat.
“Go back inside,” he repeated.
“Why? You don’t like talking to me?” Hands planted on her slim hips, she moved closer, a pensive look on her face.
He shrugged. “I don’t like talking, period.”
“Huh. So what do you like to do?”
Gage met her eyes in another long, deliberate stare. Leaving no question as to what he enjoyed doing.
She visibly swallowed. And then she startled the hell out of him.
“So maybe that’s what we should do.”
A laugh rumbled out of his chest. “You’re playing with fire, baby.”
“Am I?”
She had the nerve to lick her lips. He didn’t think she’d done it as an intentional taunt, but damn, the response to seeing her tongue dart out was instantaneous. His erection pulsed against his zipper, hard and persistent, like it was trying to tunnel its way out of his pants and into her pussy.
Gage took a breath, trying to ease the ache down south. Nope, he wasn’t giving in, wasn’t going to acknowledge the awareness prickling over his flesh. He was fighting in two days, and he didn’t like to screw before a match. The frustration fueled him, gave him the edge he needed to send an opponent to his knees.
But at the moment, he wanted to be the one on his knees. With his head underneath Skyler’s skimpy dress, his face buried between her legs as he licked her up until she screamed.
“Yes,” he rasped. “You’re definitely playing with fire.”
“Maybe I like fire, did you ever think of that? Maybe I want to get burned.”

One Night of Sin is an After Hours novella by Elle Kennedy, I would complain that it was too short but it’s pretty perfect the way it is. Relationship issues and past issues get in the way it is an even balance between the two. The characters are likable, sexy, and straight forward if not occasionally oblivious. It was a quick read but I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

It’s a quick and instant attraction between two people who are both in denial about what they want and need and both unsure about getting into a real relationship. It’s best to listen to your friends especially when they know you as well as Gage’s friends know him and when they tell him take a chance on the cute girl that has his driven him to distraction he actually listens. Both thinking they only want no strings attached sex, it leads to being something so much more before they know it.

One Night of Scandal

The wrong man never felt so right...

Ex-fighter Reed Miller has been secretly lusting over his best friend’s girl for months, but he refuses to jeopardize a friendship over a woman—especially one who doesn’t like him all that much. Now that Darcy’s on the market again, it’s even more imperative to stick to his strict hands-off policy. But the sizzling attraction between them is too powerful to ignore, and once he’s had a taste of her…all bets are off.

Darcy Grant is tired of walking the straight and narrow path. She’s on the hunt for passion, and there’s no denying Reed is just the man to give it to her. Although she has no interest in dating a bad boy, and certainly not her ex’s best friend, it’s impossible not to melt beneath Reed’s skillful touch. Now it’s just a matter of setting a few ground rules—and hoping her rule-breaking, sweet-talking bad boy agrees to follow them. But if she lets Reed into her bed, does she stand a chance of keeping him out of her heart?

“Last night you said that you have to act like a jerk towards me because it’s the only way for you to…” She eyed him sternly. “Finish that sentence, Reed. To what?”Reluctance dug a deep groove into his forehead. “It’s nothing. Forget I ever said it.”“I can’t forget. It’s been bugging me all day. I need to know what you meant by that.”“It doesn’t matter.” Sounding frustrated, he gently uncurled her fingers from his arm. “Nothing good can come out of this conversation, baby.”Darcy frowned. “Don’t baby me. And PS? I never took you for a coward. You’ve always struck me as a man who says exactly what’s on his mind.”Something hot and dangerous moved through his eyes. “Why are you pushing this?”“Because I’m curious.”“Curious? No, I don’t think that’s it.” His voice was silky now, deep and mocking. He eased closer, his arm brushing hers as he shifted so they were facing each other. “This is more than curiosity. You’re blushing. You know what that tells me?”Her breathing went shallow. “What?”“It tells me you know exactly what I meant last night.”“I…” Her next words were barely over a whisper. “I need to hear you say it.”Her body grew tight and achy as she searched his face, waiting for an answer. God, why was she pushing him? He was right, nothing good could come of this. Nothing good at all.“Don’t do this.” A warning note crept into his husky voice. “Don’t make me say it.”Darcy’s heart was no longer beating at double time. It had skipped right over triple and was now veering into cardiac arrest territory. The air in the alcove became stifling, rippling with the tension she’d only begun to notice last night. And now it was impossible to ignore.Reed was standing so damn close to her. Close enough that his addictive scent was once again wreaking havoc on her senses. Close enough that all she had to do was lean in slightly and their lips would be touching.“You’re right,” she stammered. “You shouldn’t say it.”“I shouldn’t.” Yet even as he voiced his agreement, his hand had risen to her face, his thumb delicately sweeping over her bottom lip.Her breath hitched. God. Her entire world had reduced to this one moment, this one man. Her lips were actually trembling from the crazy urge to kiss him.“Fuck.” The expletive tore out of Reed’s throat, his frustration thick between them. “I want you, Darcy. I. Fucking. Want. You.”Shock slammed into her, along with a burst of arousal that seized her core. Oh God. She couldn’t believe he’d said it. Couldn’t believe she’d pushed him to.Because now there was no way to unhear those blunt words. No turning back from them.“Is that what you wanted to hear?” he said angrily. “I’ve wanted you forever. Every goddamn time I see you, I’ve had to force myself not to blurt it out. I can barely even look at you, for chrissake, because I’m scared you’ll see it in my eyes. Is that what you want to hear?”The confession sizzled through her body like merciless flames ravaging a dry forest. Her thighs clenched, breasts tingled, heart stopped. She wanted to dive through the curtain and pretend she’d never seen the raw lust in his eyes, never heard those gruff, honest words tumble out of his mouth. But she was rooted in place. They stared at each other for what felt like an eternity, neither one speaking. Darcy had stopped breathing a while ago, and now her lungs burned, almost as painfully as the desire burning in her blood. Reed’s hand was still on her face, his calloused fingertips tracing the edge of her jaw. Her skin felt tight and prickly, the flames traveling south and tingling between her legs.Reed’s blue eyes blazed with accusation. “Why are you still here?” he burst out. “Go, Darcy. Just go.”“No,” she whispered. He took another step closer, crowding her, his broad body dominating every inch of the tiny space. Their mouths were so close she could feel his warm breath fanning over her lips, mingling with the sudden rush of air that seeped out of her lungs.“You have to go.”She swallowed. “No.”“This is wrong.” Half mumble, half moan. The anguish in his voice matching her own.He cupped her cheeks with both hands, groaning when their eyes locked again. “Just once,” he muttered. “I just need to know.”Her voice wobbled. “Know what?”“What it would feel like.” A determined glint lit his gorgeous eyes. “Maybe it won’t be as good as I imagined.”A laugh shook out. “It might be awful,” she said helpfully. He groaned again. “Worse than awful.”“We’ll probably hate it so much that—”Reed’s mouth crashed down on hers before she could finish. And there was nothing awful about it.

Reed *la sigh*

One Night of Scandal is the second book of this series and man it's sweet and hot and dirty. Once again you have two people suffering from an instant attraction, unfortunately Darcy at the time was dating Reed's best friends AJ and Reed wasn't going to cross that line not even after he finds out they broke up. But once Darcy finds out that the only reason Reed treated her like he disliked her was because he knew he couldn't have her she pushes him until they both can't stand it. Both unwilling to hurt AJ they try to stay away, that doesn't work.

Reed has a bad past and he has been working hard to try and change his ways but he is afraid no sees the change and doesn't believe himself, but Darcy is good for him. But they are both idiots, not wanting anything but a fling they are everything but that they just have yet to realize it. Reed and Darcy are the ideal couple they both are exactly what each other needed even if they don't see it at first.

He flashed that boyish smile she was growing accustomed to. “All right. Ask me.”She knit her brows. “Ask you what?”“To be your pretend boyfriend. Isn’t that what this heart-to-heart has been leading to?”Brett faltered. “Actually, I was only going to invite you to the barbecue. I figured a few days after that, I can just tell them I dumped you.”Those green eyes sparkled. “Bullshit. They’d never believe it.”“Why not?”“Because I’m fucking awesome, Brett. You’d never dump me.”“Gee, it’s good to know you don’t suffer from any confidence deficiencies.”“Seriously, it would look too suspicious if you announce out of the blue that we broke up. Besides…” The twinkle in his eye turned to smoky promise. “We have the perfect opportunity here, and I’m not about to pass it up.”“What opportunity?” she said slowly.“To turn this one-night stand into a several-nights stand.”AJ smiled again, and a dimple she hadn’t noticed before appeared in his chin. Sweet Lord, the guy was unbelievably cute. No, he wasn’t cute. He was sexy. And she’d be lying through her teeth if she said the idea of sleeping with him again wasn’t incredibly appealing. As if he’d read her mind, his voice grew low and husky. “You still want me as much as I want you.”“Oh, do I?” she mocked.“Don’t play games, angel. We both know it’s true.” He paused. “Your dad is giving you an answer at the end of the month, right?”She nodded warily.“That gives us three and a half weeks to keep doing what we’re doing.” There was no mistaking the reckless glint in his eyes.“And what exactly are we doing?”“Having fun. Making each other come.”She ignored the hot shiver that traveled up her spine. “And then what?”“Then your dad gives you the manager job, you tell your family we broke up, and we go our separate ways.”Biting her lip, Brett mulled over what was beginning to sound like a solid plan—especially the sex part. Three more weeks of super-sexy naked time with this man? Sign her up.

One thought kept running through my head....
YOU DIRTY,DIRTY BOY!
(If you don't know the reference I'm sorry)

AJ the good guy, the reliable one is a naughty boy and it takes a bad girl like Brett to bring it out in him. Brett has turned her life around and is no longer the wild child she means to prove to her father that she can be responsible and run the new tattoo shop he plans to open. Once again it's two people strongly attracted to each other getting into a "not" relationship. I really enjoyed this one it's even steamier and dirtier than the last two it is by far my favorite.

Brett doesn't think that she is AJ's type and falling for him is the last thing she wanted but she did and being with him didn't change her into a dependent pile of mush like her previous relationships. With AJ she is able to stand on her own two feet and live her live without him demanding all the attention and making her make all the sacrifices. With Brett, AJ can finally stop pretending to be someone he's not he can be the imperfect person and the guilt he has lived with for so long can finally be let go.

Overall I feel like this series is a must read. Opposites attract, what you need is never what you expect and flings can lead to so much more.
